Stage 1 vs. Stage 2 Fajas: What You Need to Know for Your BBL Recovery

Stage 1 vs. Stage 2 Fajas: What You Need to Know for Your BBL Recovery

If you are planning a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) or liposuction, you already know that the surgery is only half the battle. The other half? The recovery. And the most critical tool in your recovery arsenal is your compression garment, commonly known as a faja.

At My Faja, based in Minneapolis, we specialize in post-op care. One of the most common questions we get from our clients is: "When do I switch from a Stage 1 to a Stage 2 faja, and what is the difference?"

What is a Stage 1 Faja?

A Stage 1 Faja is the garment you wake up in immediately after your surgery. It provides gentle to moderate compression for protection and fluid management, usually worn from Day 1 to Weeks 3–4 post-op.

What is a Stage 2 Faja?

A Stage 2 Faja is where the real sculpting begins. Worn from Week 4 up to 6 months, it provides high, medical-grade compression for sculpting, skin retraction, and contouring.

The My Faja Solution

Your body changes rapidly during recovery. A standard Stage 2 faja that fits at Week 4 will be loose by Week 8. That is why we designed the My Faja Original Sport Faja to be fully adjustable. As your swelling decreases, you simply adjust the garment to maintain high-level compression without needing to buy a smaller size.
